BACKSTORY

Describe their childhood (newborn - age 10):
Jaron was born in a small, independent town somewhere in New York. It wasn't in the city, but very north away from it. His childhood was normal, growing up with both parents. However, the normality caused him to be quite naive for a while in his later years.

Describe their teenage years (11 - 19):
At age 12, Jaron's father introduced him to guns. He gave his son a small pistol, soon discovering he had a talent. Jaron could shoot straighter and more accurately than anyone his father had met. He taught Jaron as much as he knew himself.
When Jaron turned 13, his dad came down with pneumonia. The town didn't have such medicine to heal him, so he died that winter. Sherry, Jaron's mother, was visibly distressed all the time after his death, becoming more irritable and mean. Jaron shrugged it off, and although sad about his fathers passing, didn't show many signs of mourning. He blamed it on the world around them, and that this happened to everyone.
Sherry soon turned into the town whore and drunk, bringing home a different man every night. This upset Jaron to the point of disgust, so he spent most of the day outside practicing his shooting and getting away from the world. What he didn't notice was a man watching him everyday from a distant bush, noting his talent.
At 14, Jaron felt like he was a man. His mother was fully strung out. One night, Jaron and his mother got into a verbal fight and she took his pistol. Jaron fled the house to go cool off steam, where he was met by a mysterious man, the one that had been watching him. The man offered peace to Jaron, but only if he came with him. Jaron agreed and went with him. As they walked away from the town together, Jaron saw the man make some sort of signal, then heard a gunshot and screaming in the distant town behind them. He was not allowed to look back to what happened. Later, Jaron came to the conclusion that his town had been raided.

Describe their adult years (20+):
After his town was raided, Jaron was raised cold and mean by raiders. Jaron was the best of the best, one of the most talented gunners they had. He killed many people, and had no sympathy for a long time. After 15 years, Jaron felt it was time to leave. He was tired of the merciless lifestyle. Jaron decided to confront his mentor, the man who had raised him since he was 14, the same man who had picked him out. The mentor understood his wanting to leave, and wished him luck. But as Jaron turned to leave the man said he had a confession. He told Jaron about his town, and how they raided it, but spared Jaron only for his shooting talents. Jaron had figured this out on his own, of course, but it still stung hearing it again. Then the man called Jaron 'son'. Without another word, Jaron swiftly pulled out his first pistol and shot the man between the eyes.
Jaron got out of that town and traveled for about a year. He revisited his old town, finding nothing but old skeletons and ash. He did not find any trace of death in his house however, which struck him as weird. Before leaving though, he found a small, untouched jewelry box in his mothers closet. Inside he found her wedding band to his father. Jaron took it, and kept it for years.
When Jaron found Lincoln, a small, vulnerable town in Michigan, he decided to settle. After living an uneventful 12 years there, he met Paradox, a girl who had just moved into town. Together they became best friends, having a special bond that no one has ever been able to break. He gives Paradox his mothers wedding band at the beginning of Unintended, my in-progress novel about Paradox and Jaron trying to help Lincoln. Over the years, Jaron had also fallen in love with a cute woman named Jennie Smith, but after a plague rips through Lincoln and Paradox and him go to find a doctor, he becomes depressed to find out she died. However, over the course of the novel, he learns to forgive her death and move on.
Hey everybody, here is the next character bio from my novel, Unintended. Jaron is the second main character, and Paradox's best friend.
